Vidya Balan discusses the things that if given the chance to spy in real life, she would do. The actor, who most recently portrayed a detective in Anu Menon’s Neeyat, revealed the things she would ask Shah Rukh Khan and her spouse Siddharth Roy Kapur if she had the chance.
Neeyat, starring Vidya Balan, hit theaters last week on July 7. The movie is billed as a detective murder mystery in which Vidya’s Mira Rao must look into the slaying of a wealthy businessman named AK (Ram Kapoor) at his birthday party and determine who killed him throughout the night.
In an interview, Vidya was asked what she would try to look into as a detective in real life if given the chance. The actor responded with some amusing lines. She promised to ask Shah Rukh Khan about his favorite actress in the future. After that, Vidya said, “I know the answer, but I still want to know.” She laughed and said, “I forced it upon him now!”
She stated, “I just want to know how many times a day does he think of me!” when asked why she was looking into her husband Siddharth Roy Kapur. Vidya laughed and said, “I do ask him this question occasionally, and he reacts with amazement, saying that he thinks of her, but she wants to know precisely how many times.”
After a four-year absence, Vidya is back in the theaters with Neeyat. In recent years, she has had a number of digital releases, including the biopics Shakuntala Devi, Sherni, and Jalsa. Neeyat garnered mediocre reviews upon opening and had a pitiful Friday nett revenue in India of 1.02 crore.
The review of the film read, “At 132 minutes, Neeyat may not be outright boring for it does manage to keep you invested and engaged to find out who actually is behind the murder, but it takes forever to unearth that truth. And even if the big reveal is the best part about the film that you didn’t see coming, it’s too little, too late.”
