Renowned Pakistani educationist Kanwal Ameen recently appeared on Wasi Shah’s show, where she discussed her illustrious career, her role as a mother to Ali Zafar and Danyal Zafar, and her contributions to women’s education. Ameen, who served as the vice-chancellor of University of Education Lahore and as a professor at the University of Punjab, was awarded Sitara-e-Imtiaz by the Government of Pakistan for her dedication to education.
During the show, Kanwal Ameen expressed deep pride in her son Ali Zafar’s achievements, stating, “He has made us very proud with his work.” She also shared a poignant regret from Ali’s school years. Ameen revealed, “Ali was a very studious kid and got first position in 10th grade. He was awarded at his school, and it was the first big award he achieved.” Unfortunately, she was unable to attend the award ceremony due to a prior commitment. “I still feel that I should have been there that day,” she said.
Ameen also highlighted the joy she finds in her family dynamics, noting, “The thing that makes me the happiest is the bond between the three brothers. They all support each other’s careers and life, and there is never any competition.” This harmonious relationship among her children remains her greatest source of happiness.
