Pakistan cricket star Shaheen Shah Afridi has shared the first photo with his newborn son, Aliyaar Afridi, in a touching Instagram post. Just two days after Afridi and his wife, Ansha, welcomed their first child, the fast bowler took to social media to express his joy.

“My heart is full and my life just got a whole lot better. 24/08/2024 will always be special to us. Welcome to the world my son, Aliyaar Afridi,” Afridi wrote alongside the photo.

The cricketer also expressed his gratitude to his wife, Ansha, whom he described as the ‘support system’ of their small family. He acknowledged the ‘pain and sufferings she had to endure’ and thanked everyone for their kind wishes and prayers. “I am grateful for all the lovely wishes and prayers coming our way. Remember my little family in your prayers,” Afridi added.

The post quickly garnered thousands of likes and congratulatory messages from fans. Shaheen Shah Afridi and Ansha Shahid, the second-eldest daughter of former national team captain Shahid Afridi, had their nikah in February 2023, with a week-long wedding celebration in September. The news of their first baby was confirmed last month by Pakistan Test team head coach Jason Gillespie.
