The police were called after the hotel manager reported hearing a loud noise coming from the back of the building. They found that a man had fallen from his balcony.

Social media was flooded with condolences from a number of platforms, including the BRIT Awards, Spotify, the U.S. music channel, and the streaming service MTV.

As of now, neither Payne’s record label, Republic Records, nor its parent company, Universal Music Group, have responded to the incident.

Liam Payne rose to global fame as a member of One Direction, alongside Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, and Louis Tomlinson. Entertainment Weekly named the band the third best boy band ever in 2024.
