In a 2020 interview on The Graham Norton Show, Margolyes recounted the shocking moment when police contacted her. “One day I got a call from the police, and they said, ‘Are you the owner of the Gun Emplacement?’ and I said, ‘Yes.’ They said, ‘Are you aware it’s been used as a drop for criminals to get rid of their drugs? It’s a drug drop.’ And I said, ‘Of course, I didn’t know, what do you mean?'” she quipped.

Margolyes addressed how the public might believe that because of her celebrity status, she is silently endorsing illegal activity by jokingly referring to herself as “Mirium Escobar.” Her property has been used in an unexpected and alarming way, which has garnered attention from fans all over the world.
