Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn share how family critiques influence their work
Bollywood stars Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn recently opened up about how their families critique their work during an event hosted by Hindustan Times. Both actors revealed that their loved ones don’t shy away from voicing their opinions, often offering candid feedback on their movies.
Akshay Kumar admitted he avoids taking his wife, author Twinkle Khanna, to film screenings because of her sharp critiques. “The first time I took her for my trial, the producer came and asked how she found the film. She called it bakwas (terrible). That producer never worked with me again,” Akshay quipped. Despite this, he admires her honesty. “Whenever my wife likes something, she praises it. She was very happy with Khel Khel Mein, even though it didn’t work. It was a hit film in my heart,” he added.
Ajay Devgn echoed similar experiences with his wife Kajol and their children, Nysa and Yug. “Kajol and the kids are also similar. The newer generation criticizes when they want to,” he shared, adding that their feedback helps him stay updated on current trends.
In a light-hearted remark, Ajay thanked modern technology for providing some relief. “After a point, one can wear AirPods and let the family keep speaking,” he joked, mentioning his kids often lecture him on Gen-Z lingo.
Both stars concluded that while criticism can be tough, it helps them grow and evolve as actors.
