On November 5, 2024, the United States held its 60th presidential election, where Democratic candidate Kamala Harris faced off against Republican nominee Donald Trump. The next day, Trump, the former president, declared his victory, becoming the 47th president of the United States after securing the majority of votes.

Celebrities Reacting to Kamala Harris’ Loss

Following the announcement, several celebrities who supported Harris took to social media to share their disappointment. Selena Gomez shared a post on her Instagram stories that read, “I am not free while any woman is unfree, even when her shackles are very different from my own.” The Only Murders in the Building actress added, “My heart is heavy today,” reflecting her sadness over the election outcome.

Ariana Grande also expressed her support for those struggling with the result, writing on her stories, “Holding the hand of every person who is feeling the immeasurable heaviness of this outcome today.” Billie Eilish, in a brief but powerful statement, said, “It’s a war on women.”

On the other hand, Trump’s supporters were quick to praise his win. Elon Musk, a vocal backer of the former president, wrote on X, “The people of America gave @realDonaldTrump a crystal clear mandate for change tonight.”
