Allu Arjun commits to address medical and family needs of stampede victim
Actor Allu Arjun has released a statement addressing criticism over his actions following his release from jail in connection with the stampede tragedy at the premiere of his film Pushpa 2: The Rule.
The incident, which occurred on December 4 at Hyderabad’s Sandhya Theatre, claimed the life of 35-year-old Revathi, while her son, Sri Tej, remains in critical condition.
Arjun, arrested on Friday and released on Saturday, faced backlash for spending time with friends and family instead of visiting the hospital. In response, he shared a note on Instagram explaining his actions.
“I remain deeply concerned about young Sri Tej, who is under constant medical care after the unfortunate incident,” he wrote. He further clarified, “Due to the ongoing legal proceedings, I have been advised not to visit him and his family at this time. My prayers remain with them, and I remain committed to addressing their medical and family needs.”
During a media address, the actor expressed his condolences. “It is truly of no direct connection to me, truly accidental, purely unintentional. My love is with the family, and I’ll be there in whatever way possible,” he said.
The tragic stampede occurred while Arjun was inside the theatre with his wife Sneha Reddy and co-star Rashmika Mandanna.
