Are DC and Marvel coming together with exciting collaboration?
DC and Marvel, the two biggest comic book universes, are set to make history with an exciting new collaboration.
While the two franchises will continue their box office rivalry this summer with the releases of Superman and The Fantastic Four, they are also joining forces for a special crossover event set to arrive later this year.
Marvel and DC’s editor-in-chiefs, CB Cebulski and Marie Javins, confirmed the partnership during the comic book retail summit in Glendale, California. Teasing the project, Cebulski remarked, “I think there’s another white whale that we’ve got.”
Javins, intrigued, asked, “What do you mean by that?” To which Cebulski turned to the audience and declared, “Another crossover, a modern crossover, are you up for it?”
The event will mark a major moment in comic book history, bringing characters from both universes together once again. According to the publishers, the collaboration will be structured with each company releasing their own edition—DC’s book will be titled DC/Marvel, while Marvel’s edition will be Marvel/DC.
The crossover revives a long-standing tradition, as the two companies first clashed in the 1970s with Batman & The Incredible Hulk and Superman vs. The Amazing Spider-Man. Fans can now look forward to the next chapter in this legendary rivalry-turned-partnership.
