Interestingly, before finalizing Mawra Hocane for the lead role, the filmmakers auditioned over 200 girls. The reason for this extensive search? The emotional depth required for the role.

“I was told that around 215 girls auditioned for the role, but none of them looked beautiful while crying,” Mawra revealed in a now-viral video. Since the film featured several emotional scenes, this became a crucial casting factor, and Mawra secured the role due to her ability to appear graceful even in distress.

Mawra Hocane and Harshvardhan Rane’s on-screen chemistry was widely praised, making the film a beloved classic over time. As Sanam Teri Kasam re-released in theaters on February 7 during Valentine’s Week, Mawra surprised fans with a personal milestone—her wedding.

On February 5, 2025, she tied the knot with Pakistani actor Amir Gilani in an intimate ceremony. She later shared glimpses of her dreamy celebration on Instagram, which quickly went viral.

Meanwhile, Sanam Teri Kasam 2 is officially in development, with Harshvardhan Rane returning as the lead. The film was announced on September 10, 2024, but the female lead remains unconfirmed. While fans are eager for Mawra’s return, there is no official confirmation, and her involvement remains doubtful.
