Ranveer Allahbadia’s crying video post India’s Got Latent controversy goes viral
As the backlash against Ranveer Allahbadia’s comments on India’s Got Latent grows, a viral video of the YouTuber crying has been widely shared, with claims that he is regretting his remarks.
In the clip, Ranveer Allahbadia, also known as BeerBiceps, is seen wearing a white t-shirt and lamenting, “Mujhe isliye bura lag raha hai kyunki sab kaam band ho gaya (I feel bad because all the work has stopped) b*****d. I just feel I am guilty. Poori team ko aise expose kar diya. Meri wajah se poora kaam band ho gaya hai (I exposed the entire team. Because of me, all the work has stopped).”
However, the truth behind the video is different. The clip is from a three-year-old post made by Allahbadia during the second wave of Covid-19, when he tested positive for the virus. The original video even begins with him saying, “Hi guys, I just tested positive for Covid.”
Here’s the original video of the YouTuber:
Meanwhile, the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has condemned Allahbadia’s comments as “abhorrent” and “disrespectful.” They have called for a ban on the show and urged actors and filmmakers to sever ties with its creators.
In response to the backlash, Allahbadia issued a public apology, stating, “My comment wasn’t just inappropriate, it wasn’t even funny. Comedy is not my forte, I am just here to say sorry.” He further added, “Family is the last thing that I would ever disrespect.”
Additionally, host Samay Raina announced that he has deleted all episodes of India’s Got Latent from YouTube and assured full cooperation with authorities.
