Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan’s untimely demise has left the entire Indian cinema shredding tears.

The legendary star was remembered by a number of famous personalities, including celebrities, politicians and cinematic artists.

Now, the latest to pay tribute is Danny Boyle, director of Khan’s famed movie Slumdog Millionaire.

In an interview with BBC, Danny Boyle recalled Irrfan Khan’s contribution to Slumdog’s massive Oscar victory.

“Irrfan was a wonderful actor and a pivotal figure in the making of Slumdog Millionaire.”

He added, “It wasn’t a huge role, and in fact on paper it was even less rewarding-looking.

“But Irrfan saw the possibility of guiding our audience – with his dignity, his grace, his charm, his intelligence and his calmness – through this crossword puzzle of an idea of a film.”

Boyle recalled the words ‘get that guy’ while speaking how we recommended to cast Khan in the film by a studio executive.

Irrfan Khan passed away on Wednesday in Mumbai’s Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani hospital.

The actor was hospitalized on April 28 evening and kept in the ICU as he suffered colon infection, aged 53.

The news comes just two days after the actor’s mother Saeda Begum breathed her last on Saturday in Jaipur where she used to stay.

However, owing to the ongoing lockdown, the actor could not physically attend his mother’s last rites.

He reportedly paid his last respect through video conferencing.

Irfan Khan last seen in Homi Adajania’s comedy film Angrezi Medium, the last-released Bollywood film before COVID-19 forced the complete shutdown of cinema halls.
