Are Kareena Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor related?

Actress Kareena Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor have a few things in common, they are both successful actresses and they have made a name for themselves in Bollywood, they both belong to old film families, but one thing that not many people know is that both the actresses are distant relatives.

Kareena belongs to the Kapoor family, the first family known for Hindi cinema, and the ancestor of this family is Prithviraj Kapoor. The fourth generation of this family is now currently working in the film world.

The family gave some big names to the Bollywood film world including Raj Kapoor, Shammi Kapoor and Shashi Kapoor. Rishi Kapoor achieved a high position among the next generation.

After him Karisma Kapoor became the first female actress of this family, who also made her place. Now in the present generation, Kareena and Ranbir Kapoor are further shining the name and place of their family in the industry.

Similarly, there is another Kapoor family that made a place in the film world but this family gained fame after Anil Kapoor in the 90s, the family of Surinder Kapoor. Anil, Bonnie and Sanjay Kapoor are all sons of Surinder Kapoor.
