Akshay Kumar’s Prithviraj have around 50,000 garments, all handcrafted

During the filming of Akshay Kumar’s upcoming historical drama ‘Prithviraj,’ which is based on the life and courage of Prithviraj Chauhan, the makers had to manufacture over 50,000 outfits and employ 500 different styles of turbans.
“Rarely do films take this much effort and start on such big projects,” says Akshay Kumar. Every detail of our film, which is based on the life of Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan, has been handled with the utmost sincerity, authenticity, and respect.

“While filming the film, we paid close attention to the tiniest details because we wanted this to be the most spectacular portrayal of Samrat Prithviraj’s life on the big screen,” he stated.
“Detail was important to create a picture like ‘Prithviraj,'” says director Chandraprakash Dwivedi. For the film, 500 distinct turbans, for example, were constructed. All of these were exact replicas of the turbans worn by kings, common people, and individuals of various professions at the period.

“We had a turban styling professional on set who would oversee the process of our performers wearing these turbans,” he explained.
“Over 50,000 garments were handcrafted for the film by a costume designer who was expressly flown in from Rajasthan with his team to stay in Mumbai and make these costumes from scratch,” he continues.
He is grateful that he had a producer like Aditya Chopra who believed in his vision for the picture and fully supported him in telling such a huge story.
