Nitin Mukesh discusses his father Mukesh’s relationship with Lata Mangeshkar

On the show ‘Naam Reh Jayegaa,’ well-known vocalist Nitin Mukesh, son of famed singer Mukesh, recounted his father’s friendship with Lata Mangeshkar.
He declares: “Mukeshji used to refer to Lataji as ‘Didi.’ He used to tell me that I should call him Didi so that future generations know not to call her by her name. She is a legend, and you must refer to her as “Didi.”

The singer continues: “From the age of 14 to 15, Didi knew my father Mukeshji. As a sister, she used to tie rakhi to my father. I recall going to the song recording studios with my father when I was about 4-5 years old just to see her.”

“She was a thin, attractive woman who wore a white saree and had two plaits and would sing like Ma Saraswati,” he says.
