Ranbir Kapoor talks about his double role in Shamshera

• Ranbir is portraying two characters in the same movie for the first time.
• Ranbir portrays both the father, Shamshera, and the son, Balli!
• He reveals that he was just asked to play the role of Balli, but persuaded to do both characters.

For the first time in his career, Ranbir Kapoor is portraying a larger-than-life character in the action comedy Shamshera. Ranbir is returning to the big screen four years. He astounded everyone and took everyone off guard when the much-anticipated movie’s trailer dropped! In this show of retaliation, Ranbir portrays both the father, Shamshera, and the son, Balli!

Ranbir reveals that he was just asked to play the role of Balli. However, he persuaded director Karan Malhotra and producer Aditya Chopra to give him the role of Shamshera as well!

He explains, “Because it is such a great role, it is such an interesting, juicy part for an actor to play. Then, I really had to convince Adi and Karan. I think after that Karan did a couple of look tests and that’s when he got convinced also. So, initially, it wasn’t offered to me but it hooked me thoroughly as an actor. They were two unique characters and for an actor like me, to play two distinctive characters and make them different was very challenging and very exciting for me.”
