Janhvi Kapoor says its artistic freedom on Ranveer Singh’s nude photoshoot

Janhvi Kapoor has joined the ranks of famous people like filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri, actors Swara Bhasker and Urfi Javed, and international supermodel-actor Milind Soman. Janhvi spoke up for Ranveer at a recent event in the national capital. She said that no one should be punished for artistic freedom.

Ranveer Singh’s naked photoshoot for a magazine set off a national uproar among people who say they are moral police. A women’s NGO has filed an FIR against Ranveer, saying that his “bum” in the photoshoot hurts women’s feelings. This has been talked about in the news recently.

In a video that the media shared, Janhvi said, “I think it’s artistic freedom and I don’t think anyone should be penalised for their artistic freedom.”

Janhvi was in Delhi for an event. Her movie Good Luck Jerry just came out on OTT. She said that Ranveer’s choice to pose naked is his “artistic freedom,” and that he shouldn’t be punished for it.

Urfi Javed had said earlier in response to the issue, “I think, all these NGOs who are claiming that Ranveer has hurt the sentiments of women need to be reminded that when a woman faces such backlash, at that time, where and why do they disappear? A woman faces even double of what he is getting so why have they sprung up from the oblivion suddenly now? Where were they when I was getting grilled for the kind of clothes I wear?”

Ranveer will be seen next in Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, which is directed by Karan Johar and also stars Alia Bhatt, Jaya Bachchan, Dharmendra, and Shabana Azmi in great roles. He is also in Cirkus, which was made by Rohit Shetty.
