Jaya Bachchan is well-known. She has starred in many Bollywood hits, including Zanjeer, Guddi, Abhimaan, and others. Do you know the veteran actress’s first salary and age? Jaya doesn’t remember her pay either. She admitted it on her granddaughter Navya Naveli Nanda’s podcast.

Jaya discussed her finances again.  “The first salary I got was at the age of 13 and I don’t even know how much it was,” she said. Later, she paid for her education herself. “When I went to the institute (to study), I told my father I don’t want him to finance me, I paid for my education,”  the actor-politician said.

Navya’s mother Shweta said she’s bad with money and doesn’t want her daughter to be. Delhi kindergarten assistants made Rs. 3,000. Stay away, Naviya. She suggested, “In Delhi, I used to work as an assistant teacher in a kindergarten and was getting Rs. 3,000 as salary. But you (Navya) should not follow me. I had told you don’t get married till you have enough money in your bank to buy yourself a home,”

Jaya’s advice to Navya on having kids: Jaya recently made headlines for saying she doesn’t mind if Navya Naveli Nanda has a “child without marriage.” “You should have a good friend, you should discuss and say, ‘Okay, maybe I’d like to have a child with you because I like you, I think you’re nice, so let’s get married because that’s what the society’s saying’. I have no problem if you have a child without a marriage also, I really don’t have a problem,” she said.

The veteran actress also revealed that Amitabh Bachchan had a condition before marrying her. “I definitely don’t want a wife who will be 9 to 5. Please work, but not every day. You choose your projects and work with the right people”, told her. Jaya Bachchan married Amitabh Bachchan on June 3, 1973, at Jaya’s godmother’s house in Mumbai. 50th wedding anniversary in 2023.
