Fans congratulated the actor on the news and expressed excitement about seeing her in movies once more. Can’t wait to see you on screen soon (red heart emojis),” one fan wrote. Another person remarked, “Same smile as Jhulan,” in reference to Anushka’s photos.

Anushka explained why the biopic on the Indian bowler was unique when it was first announced earlier this year. In a statement, she had stated: “It will be an eye-opener into the world of women’s cricket. At a time when Jhulan decided to become a cricketer and make her country proud on the global stage, it was very tough for women to even think of playing the sport. This film is a dramatic retelling of several instances that shaped her life and also women’s cricket.”

Anushka last appeared in Zero (2018) by Aanand L Rai, which also starred Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif. She also produced the 2020 Netflix movie Bulbbul during the previous four years, and most recently, she appeared in Anvita Dutt’s Qala, another Karnesh production. Virat Kohli, a cricketer, is her husband. Vamika Kohli, their daughter, will turn two in January 2023.
