Bollywood’s bhai Salman Khan
Salman Khan is unquestionably one of Bollywood’s biggest stars of all time. The actor, affectionately known as Bollywood’s “Bhaijaan,” celebrates his 56th birthday on Tuesday, December 27. The Tiger 3 star will celebrate his birthday with family and a few close friends, as he does every year. In terms of his acting career, Salman Khan is completely occupied with several highly promising projects in the works.
The superstar made his debut as an actor in the 1988 film Biwi Ho To Aisi. Later, in 1989, he made his debut as a leading man in Sooraj Bharjatya’s Maine Pyar Kiya. With mega-hits such as Hum Aapke Hain Kaun?, Karan Arjun, and others, Salman Khan established himself as one of the most coveted actors in Hindi cinema. He demonstrated his acting prowess in films such as Khamoshi: The Musical and Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. Later, Salman achieved superstardom with the blockbuster film Wanted, which was followed by mega-hits such as Dabangg and Bhaiyyaji Superhit.
This photograph, taken on the set of Maine Pyar Kiya, depicts Salman Khan as an ambitious and talented young man. The film’s massive success spawned a new romantic hero in Hindi cinema, whose stellar performance earned him overnight fame. This is still one of the greatest debut performances in the history of Bollywood.
This image, a screengrab from a song sequence in the blockbuster film Hum Aapke Hain Kaun?, demonstrates how Salman Khan became a self-assured actor who knew how to charm the camera. The actor’s back-to-back box office successes and a few flops established him as one of the country’s most bankable stars. However, he was still considered a lesser star compared to Madhuri Dixit Nene, the film’s leading lady at the time.
Salman Khan gradually began to explore the various genres of cinema with films such as Andaz Apna Apna and Karan Arjun. Notably, he shared the screen with his then-rivals Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan in both films. In addition, he appeared in cameo roles in several blockbuster films, including Judwaa and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, in which he was adored by audiences.
Khamoshi: The Musical and Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam are two of Salman Khan’s films that have earned cult-classic status over the years, despite their commercial success. Both of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s films were well received by both critics and audiences. However, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam gained massive popularity across the globe due to its excellent story, stellar music score, and Salman and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s impeccable chemistry.
During this time, Salman Khan’s 2017-founded initiative Being Human also garnered a great deal of audience support. The organization’s primary mission is to provide education and healthcare to India’s underprivileged. The majority of the organization’s funding comes from the sale of Being Human merchandise, primarily clothing.
Wanted, directed by Prabhu Deva and released in 2009, cemented Salman Khan’s position as Bollywood’s biggest superstar. The action thriller became one of the highest-grossing Hindi films of all time and resurrected Salman’s acting career overnight.
With numerous back-to-back box office successes, including commercially successful films such as Dabangg, Ready, Bodyguard, and Ek Tha Tiger, among others, the superstar successfully established his own genre of films, which the general public affectionately refers to as the “Salman Khan brand of films.” However, the 2015 release of the popular film Bajrangi Bhaijaan brought back the actor we had all missed for some time.
Salman Khan is now Bollywood’s beloved Bhaijaan, having established a super-successful acting career and becoming the face of the Bigg Boss show, which has made him a fan favourite among television audiences. His home production company, Salman Khan Films, finances both his films and other smaller projects.
