Mira Rajput slaps Ishaan while enacting Dil Chahta Hai scene

On Sunday afternoon, Shahid Kapoor, Ishaan Khatter, and Mira Rajput attempted to recreate a memorable sequence from Farhan Akthar’s directorial debut, Dil Chahta Hai. Shahid volunteered to take the role of Akash, played by Aamir Khan, while Ishaan was cast as Saif Ali Khan’s innocent Sameer. Mira was stepping in for Suchitra Pillai’s annoying Priya, Sameer’s nagging girlfriend.

Shahid and Ishaan, two brothers, started their Sunday off together by going for a bike ride and then returning home. In a series of Instagram Stories, the actor shared some images from their morning together. Two months ago, Shahid and Mira moved into the brand-new Worli duplex.

Then they started acting out the part from the 2001 movie where Sameer is convinced to be more assertive in his relationship with Priya by his buddies, specifically Akash. Ishaan and Shahid captioned their collaborative video, “Dil kya chahta hai ?! (waving hand emoji)” “You need to become a little more engaged with what you’re doing,” Mira begins, as Ishaan tries to get in a word during her advice session. She finally tells him, “Just keep quiet!”

Shahid chimes in with Akash’s dialogue, while drinking coffee, “Arre, mard ban, be a man. Arre, usne teri mardangi ko lalkara hai, dikha usse (Be a man, she has challenged your manhood).” A convinced Ishaan walks off determinedly only to return to Mira and say, “Bhabs…” But Mira replies, “Ishaan, bano maat, main tumhari shakal bhi nahin dekha chahti. Go to hell!” She lightly “slaps” him after that and collapses in laughter, which causes everyone else to start laughing as well. The group also posed for some silly pictures at home while the Hindi movie’s theme song played.

Fans and coworkers who left comments on their post appear to be delighted by their recreation. “Crack!” the actor Kriti Sanon stated in a tweet. Raashii Khanna commented, “You guys are really cute! (emojis for “haha” and “heart”) “Hahahahahahahaha so invested,” wrote one Instagram user. “I’m watching this on loop,” one more said. I can’t help but laugh, “Bichara Mera Banda.” Another was alarmed to learn that Mira had “slapped” Ishaan.
