Paresh Rawal praise Amitabh Bachchan for paying back to lenders
Amitabh Bachchan was lauded by Paresh Rawal in a recent interview. Because he believes there is much more to learn from the actor than just his incredible fame. Paresh Rawal recalled the moment Amitabh was over 90 crore in debt and described how he handled it with class.
Amitabh Bachchan’s production company, Amitabh Bachchan Corporation Ltd (ABCL), suffered significant losses in 1999, putting it on the verge of going out of business. He ended up owing more than 90 crores as a result. After presenting Kaun Banega Crorepati, Amitabh later recovered. He was also helped by Mohabbatein’s success, which made things worse for him, but he was eventually able to get out from under the heavy debt.
Paresh Rawal recounted the questions he put to Amitabh regarding his difficult times on Neelesh Misra’s The Slow Interview series, which brought back memories of Amitabh’s predicament at the time. He said, “Did anybody think that such a thing could ever happen to Amitabh Bachchan? What he used to be, and what he became… He’s a classic example. There’s so much that you can learn from him, especially about dignity.”
“I remember asking him about it once. I asked him if he confided in his family when things became very difficult. And he said, ‘Why? Let them live their life.’ See, he owed people so much money, but he never bad-mouthed anybody. Not once. He could’ve hidden behind the law, got exemption, but he chose to pay every single person back. These are his values. He is Harivansh Rai Bachchan’s son, after all. What a man,” Paresh added. He also said that Amitabh maintained the same dignity even during his best days, unlike the new ones in the industry now, who ‘throw tantrums.’
Amitabh previously discussed the era in which creditors would knock on his door and cause problems. He claimed they made threats and demanded payment. He referred to it as one of his career’s lowest times.
Amitabh was last spotted in this year’s Brahmastra, Uunchai, and Goodbye trifecta of back-to-back movies. He is currently working on the forthcoming film Project K with Deepika Padukone and Prabhas. Paresh Rawal, who was most recently seen in Sharmaji Namkeen, will be a part of the cast of Aankh Micholi, Shehzada, and Hera Pheri 3.
