Shah Rukh Khan asks Aditya Chopra for an action film

• Shah Rukh Khan claimed he felt guilty when the film underperformed.
• He also revealed how he encouraged YRF to make an action film.
• He said he was warned he’d become tired of action movies.

Shah Rukh Khan‘s next film, Pathaan, co-stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham. Shah Rukh Khan‘s last full-fledged part was in Aanand L. Rai’s 2018 film Zero. Shah Rukh Khan claimed he felt guilty when the film underperformed. He also revealed how he encouraged YRF’s Aditya Chopra and Pathaan’s Siddharth Anand to make an action film with him four years ago.

Shah Rukh Khan remembers requesting Pathaan from Siddharth Anand and Aditya Chopra. He discussed filmmaking with cricketer Robin Uthappa. If I fail, I’ll work harder, he remarked. If I succeed, I say, “If I fail then I want to just go back and work harder. If I succeed, I’m like let’s go back and work harder so we can make the next one better.” He remarked, “Now I am about 57. Four years ago, I was 53 and was feeling a little weak. Injuries were there, surgeries were there, but I thought I should do something that I haven’t done before. I should get physically very fit. I told my friend Aditya Chopra and Siddharth Anand, ‘Ek action picture banao (make an action film)’.”

Shah Rukh said he was warned he’d become tired of action movies. SRK said he’d try hard. I said, “Try.” I told them, ‘I may not be as excellent as Tiger (Shroff) or Duggu (Hrithik Roshan),'” he remarked.

Shah Rukh Khan claimed he planned to take a year off following Zero to become fit.“Zero required a lot of hard work, and then it didn’t work as well and nobody liked it, I felt bad. But then I thought I will do something which people like. Maine dil ki bohot kar li. But I also wanted to do something which was different for me,”  he stated.

During his break, he planned to visit his daughter Suhana Khan in New York. He joked that Suhana enjoyed it so much she didn’t invite him. After the Coronavirus outbreak, he learned to cook.
