Karan Johar state he ‘can’t be seen wearing glasses under ₹1 lakh’
Filmmaker Karan Johar is renowned for his passion for exclusive, global brands. Karan frequently draws notice for his design statements, which range from eccentric attire to trendy enormous glasses and even rings. He just made an appearance in a funny new video in which he falls in love with a pair of spectacles that are being sold online but worries that they are too inexpensive for him.
Shark Tank India’s Peyush Bansal, the creator of an eyeglass company, posted the footage. He captioned it, “No caption can describe this! So just watch.”

On one of his international excursions, Karan may be seen sitting outside a cafe wearing a green suit. Peyush, who is at the moment asleep at his Indian house, receives a call from him. When Peyush answers the phone, Karan starts by gushing over a pair of glasses he saw on the website of his business.
He asks Peyush to clarify that the price is in dollars when he sees that the glasses are priced at “999.” Peyush corrects him, saying that it’s rupees instead of dollars. It bothers Karan, who declares, “I can’t be seen wearing glasses under Rs. 1 lakh.” He requests that Peyush bill him 90,000 for the spectacles. He convinces him by lowering the price to 80,000. Peyush declines his offer, suggests he buy from another pricey brand instead, and ends the call.
I am out of town @karanjohar, Peyush shared the video on Instagram Stories. The caption for the video that Karan posted on Instagram Stories said, “Been trying to reach you Peyush Bansal. Please take my call…”
The video was well received by viewers, who expressed a desire to act as middlemen and pocket the extra cash. “I can become the middleman, I would gift wrap the glasses and courier them to you,” a fan said. “Mai ban jata hu middleman.” A different person said, “Aap 999 me lelo mai baaki delivery charges leke pohchata hu (You may take it for 999 only, I’ll send it to you after taking my delivery charges).” The movie’s creator, Guneet Monga, gave it the name “Dhamaal.” A follower also observed Peyush sleeping with his spectacles on and said, “Aap chashmai pehen ke hi sote ho kya? (You wear spectacles when you sleep)?”
