Amitabh Bachchan, an actor, reminisced as he uploaded a throwback photo from Reshma Aur Shera, his second film. On Monday, Amitabh shared a black and white snapshot of himself perched atop a camel on Instagram. Amitabh posed for the camera while wearing a white kurta and matching dhoti. A scarf was wrapped over his neck as well.

In the photo, he was surrounded by people and tents. Amitabh said as his caption: “They all used to call me unnt when I joined the film industry in 1969. Consequently, I reasoned that I should mount one (laughing emojis). This is from my second movie, Reshma aur Shera, and it was shot in Pochina, a remote desert outpost miles outside Jaisalmer. Now, thankfully, they don’t refer to me like that. Several other people have appropriated the titled epithet…” An unnt is a camel.

A admirer responded to the post by writing, “You have reached the sky in terms of name and fame sir. Ab na unnt matters na hi height (Now neither camel matters nor height). Legend, pride and shahenshah of India.” “What a handsome man,” said a person. “Yes, my uncle would use similar phrases to describe you, and I used to fight with him. Those were the days, different generation of hero worship,” a user of Instagram commented.

Sunil Dutt is the producer and director of Reshma Aur Shera (1971). The movie also stars Sunil, Waheeda Rehman, Vinod Khanna, Raakhee, Ranjeet, and Amrish Puri in addition to Amitabh. Reshma Aur Shera was chosen as India’s submission for the 44th Academy Awards’ Best Foreign Language Film category, although it was not approved as a nominee. At the National Film Awards, the movie took up three prizes.

Amitabh stated in an interview with Filmfare in 2018 that “Early in my career, I had the incredible good fortune to work with Waheeda on Reshma Aur Shera (1971). She has always represented the perfect Indian woman to me, and I recognised traits in her demeanour that shared some of my values. She was a person of quiet, modesty, and reserve who was the epitome of grace throughout the film’s production. The unit spent a lot of time in Rajasthan’s deserts, camping in tents at Pochina, a town outside of Jaisalmer.”

Amitabh most recently appeared with Anupam Kher, Parineeti Chopra, and Boman Irani in the family-friendly comedy Uunchai. Danny Denzongpa, Neena Gupta, and Sarika also starred in the movie. The audience responded well to the picture, which Sooraj Barjatya directed.
