Kantara, directed by Rishab Shetty, was one of the movies that sparked conversation last year. The movie received positive reviews from all viewers and did well at the box office. And it appears that Kantara 2 is currently in development.

Kantara recently reached the milestone of 100 days since its debut. The cast and crew of the movie gathered to celebrate the event. Rishab Shetty discussed the upcoming Kantara movie at this point. He disclosed that what viewers had seen was the second installment, and that Kantara’s prequel would be the next movie.

Rishab Shetty also revealed that the movie will be released sometime within 2024, which is a significant development. He stated, “The idea flashed into my mind while I was shooting for Kantara because the history of Kantara has more depth to it. And currently, as far as the writing part is concerned, we are in the middle of digging into more details.”

He also indicated that further information about the Kantara prequel movie would be revealed shortly because work on the project is already started.

Rishab Shetty will play the protagonist in the prequel to Kantara as well. Under the Hombale Films banner, Vijay Kiragandur and Chaluve Gowda will support the movie.
