Ranbir Kapoor recalls his mother Neetu caught him smoking

Ranbir Kapoor has admitted that his mum Neetu Kapoor is the person he has lied to the most. He also remembered smoking his first cigarette and being caught by her. He continued by saying that at the time, he pleaded for forgiveness, and his parents finally stopped supporting his smoking habit.

The late Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor’s son is actor Ranbir Kapoor. He most recently appeared in Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar. Ranbir was asked to choose the one person to whom he had lied the most during the film’s promotion.

Ranbir explained to RJ Siddharth Kannan in a discussion, “I’ve lied to my mother the most. I used to get smacked a lot, I was very naughty. I’m a changed man now.” Then, he was questioned about the falsehood that led him into trouble.

Ranbir said, “When I first smoked a cigarette, my mother found out… It was a very dark time in my life. It was a dark moment, I haven’t seen my mother feeling so devastated. She thought I was doing heroin… of course, you feel bad. I apologised profusely, and I begged for forgiveness. But eventually, I guess, parents also give up.”

For the first time, Ranbir is paired with Shraddha Kapoor in Tu Jhooti Main Makkaar. The Luv Ranjan-directed romance comedy hit theatres on March 8. Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, “Director Luv Ranjan’s Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar starring Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor, is a film that plays with the extremes. The funny parts are extremely funny, and the boring parts are intolerably boring.”

In parts, you would feel like it’s a mixture of Ranbir Kapoor‘s earlier films, and then Ranjan peppers it with signature rom-com flavour taking punches from Pyaar Ka Punchnama as well as Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety – oh yes, there are cameos that give a crossover feel. But as a whole, Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar never comes together as a wholesome, perfect script that you would laud wholeheartedly,” it added.

In the upcoming Sandeep Reddy Vanga film Animal, Ranbir will next be seen. Rashmika Mandanna is also in the movie. Animal will be released later this year and also stars Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol in significant roles.
