Platinum Jubilee, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Reunited With Royal Family
- Over two years after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped down as senior working royals.
- The couple is back in the United Kingdom in honour of Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee.
- Bow down to this family reunion.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle returned to the United Kingdom this weekend to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who stepped down as senior members of the royal family in January 2020, travelled down from their residence in Southern California to take part in the festivities, which began with the Trooping the Colour ceremony on June 2.
Due to the monarch’s desire to only have working royals by her side, Harry and Meghan—who share children Archie Harrison, 3, and Lilibet Diana, 12 months—did not appear alongside Queen Elizabeth on the Buckingham Palace balcony during the festivities. They did, however, watch the Trooping the Colour ceremony from the sidelines with other family members at Major General’s Office.
The couple’s journey to London comes just over a month after they spent time in the United Kingdom with Harry’s grandmother. While there were few specifics disclosed about the encounter, it was the couple’s first united trip to the country since moving to California in 2020.
