Carole Middleton visits Royal Ascot in her daughter Kate’s gown

• Carole Middleton, Kate’s mother, wore a very familiar pink dress to Royal Ascot today, demonstrating that she shares her daughter’s fashion sense.

Carole’s Me + Em gown was worn by the Duchess of Cambridge during her visit last spring with Mila Sneddon, a young cancer sufferer who requested that Kate wear a pink outfit when she met her.

The silk shirt-dress style midi, which features soft pleats and a sash waist, retailed for $540 at the time, but the duchess, 40, swapped hers for a more structured pink belt from Boden.

The duchess wore pink Emmy London pumps ($410), delicate gold Missoma London hoops with a rhodochrosite charm ($110), and a floral pattern face mask when visiting Mila and her family at the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh.

Carole and Kate aren’t the only couples to have a twinning moment.

While we’ve seen the Middleton matriarch in a variety of lovely — and very duchess-like — outfits, they’ve also been seen in the same one on multiple times.

Kate donned a beautiful white fascinator topped with a blue flower to a friend’s wedding in 2009 before becoming Duchess of Cambridge. Carole wore the same hat at Royal Ascot the following year, teaming it with a Reiss cobalt dress.

Carole even shared her wedding gown with her daughter-in-law Alizee, who plans to marry James Middleton in 2021.

Today’s match comes following reports that the Cambridge family may be relocating to Windsor later this year, putting them closer to the Middleton family’s Berkshire residence.
