Brittany Daniel celebrated her daughter Hope Rose’s first birthday

After welcoming their first child on October 24, 2021, the 46-year-old Sweet Valley High alumna took to Twitter on Monday to post pictures from baby Hope Rose’s first birthday celebration.

“Happy birthday to the happiest and most tenacious baby I know. Hope, Daddy and I are here for you every step of the journey, and we love you “Daniel wrote in the post’s caption.

Hope can be seen in the pictures sporting a stylish black and white gingham top from Rylee + Cru along with white leggings and stud earrings.

The birthday child was seen in the pictures playing with chocolate cake and wearing pink birthday hats with her parents after swinging with them.

On Monday, Touni, 41, also posted a cute snapshot of his daughter giggling as a tribute to his daughter in honour of her mini-milestone birthday.

He wrote in the Instagram caption: “Hope Rose Touni turns one today! By simply being you, you’ve increased happiness in our planet more than you may ever realise. We sincerely appreciate you being here. Mom and Dad, you are loved.”

After learning about the pregnancy for the first time, the couple told PEOPLE in August 2021 that they were “over the moon.”

“This has been a long time coming,” Daniel said, adding that she was “very much looking forward” to holding their child in her arms after enduring a gruelling and potentially fatal battle with stage IV non-Hodgkins lymphoma in 2012. She continued, “We can’t wait for the ability to show our first child the world.”

When Daniel was informed that the harm chemo had done to her ovaries and egg supply was too great, she went on the PEOPLE Everyday podcast in January and explained what transpired. Daniel claims that in 2013, after learning that her identical twin sister Cynthia was pre-menopausal and most certainly unable to bear children, Cynthia agreed to donate her eggs.

Brittany was not yet married when she and Cynthia were considering freezing Cynthia’s eggs. However, she didn’t tell her future spouse about her plans until six months later, when she met him.

“I thought, “Oh yes, I’m forty.” I desire a family. And we’d use my twin sister’s eggs if we wanted to establish a family,” “Brittany recalled. Within the first several hours of meeting him, I imparted all this knowledge, and he responded, “Okay.” Before beginning the IVF procedure and embryo transfer using Cynthia’s egg, the couple got married in 2017.
