You never really know how strong you are until being strong is your only choice. Giuliana Rancic held the message close to her heart and by her bedside when she fought breast cancer in 2011. However, ten years after overcoming the illness, the fashion designer is reflecting on her journey and recognizing how far she has come.

“My biggest self-discovery after cancer and treatment was realizing I was stronger than I had thought I was,” Giuliana shared with News in an exclusive interview. “I love knowing that I have come out of that experience a stronger woman.”

The co-anchor of the news remembered feeling worried about the future when she was initially diagnosed. However, as she continues to share her experience, the 48-year-old realizes that she was never fighting alone.

“I wish I knew how many other survivors and women battling breast cancer there were,” she said. “I also wish I knew how desperately the medical field needs to receive the support to continue the work they do to find a life-saving cure.”

You can act better if you know better. Additionally, she is working hard and contributing to the effort to fight breast cancer alongside Giuliana.

In celebration of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Giuliana decluttered her closet and decided to use thread up to sell the outfits she wore on the red carpet. Her nonprofit, FAB-U-WISH, which grants wishes to breast cancer patients in the fields of fashion, beauty, and celebrity, will get all of the funds earned.

“I had so much fun going down memory lane and choosing some of my favorite items to sell on thred up,” she said. “From a Maje cocktail dress that I wore to host a Breast Cancer Awareness event to a Teri Jon by Rickie Freeman cocktail dress that I wore to the Gracie Awards Gala, I can’t wait to get my items into the hands of others who I hope will love them as much as I did!”

She also wishes that women would prioritize their health and schedule routine doctor visits.

She advocated scheduling a mammogram, conducting a self-exam at home, and becoming knowledgeable about breast cancer warning signs at any time. “I am very happy to have been cancer free for 10 years and am so fortunate that I was able to discover my breast cancer early.”

Giuliana also provides guidance for those who have close friends or family members who are ill.

When I was facing breast cancer, she continued, “I appreciated friends and family doing the simple things to show their love and support.” “A text, phone, or handwritten note can have a profound impact.
