 Following Liz Truss’ resignation, Piers Morgan has made it known that he is prepared to enter politics. Just hours before Truss made her comments, the former Good Morning Britain host urged the politician to resign on Twitter.

“You’re making Britain an absolute laughing stock @trussliz – put your country before your pathetic attempt at self-preservation, and resign,” he wrote.

The 57-year-old declared: “It’s over. Liz Truss is resigning and will become the shortest-serving Prime Minister in British history. What an absolute shambles.”

“These are serious times and we need a serious & competent Prime Minister,” he added.

The TalkTV host also hinted that he would one day run for prime minister when posting an old photo of himself in front of 10 Downing Street and saying to his fans, “It may be time.”

Users were divided by the controversial media personality’s comments, with one writing: “If America can have [Donald Trump] then the UK can absolutely have @piersmorgan,” another adding: “F*** it how much worse can it get.”

Another person wrote: “Real leadership, not bulls***, is what’s required. We don’t need another court jester.”
