Garcelle Beauvais stated that Andy Cohen’s apology following their exchange on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills reunion “meant a lot.” The 54-year-old actor admitted that before he made a public apology for not respecting her concerns regarding the devaluation of her memoir by co-star Lisa Rinna, the 55-year-old actress had a conversation with Cohen.

“We spoke. Absolutely. He called me before he put out the apology and, you know, he’s great,” she told News. “There were a lot of things that were missed during the reunion and it was really sad and unfortunate.”

She added, “But, I like Andy and I think the fact that he stood up and said something meant a lot.”

Beauvais additionally disclosed on social media that she is taking a short break from the RHOBH turmoil.

“Guys it’s been a hell of a season #rhobh I’m taking a mental break from it!” she tweeted. “When there’s something important to talk about I’ll talk about it”

On his SiriusXM program Radio Andy last week, Cohen expressed regret over his encounter with Beauvais during the second RHOBH reunion, adding, “I need to really apologize.”

Beauvais was due an apology, he said (in audio recorded by the Queens of Bravo fan page), “not just for [my] changing the topic but for not returning, much worse, to the serious conversation that was at hand.”

Rinna, 59, made a viral post on Erika Girardi’s Instagram between seasons by admitting that she, and not Girardi, had thrown Beauvais’ memoir in the trash during last week’s show.

Rinna admitted, “I have to be honest: I’m the one who threw Garcelle’s book in the trash,” expressing her continued resentment against Beauvais for bringing up her daughter Amelia Hamlin’s eating disorder in the previous season. This violated the unwritten Housewives rule that children are off-limits, according to Rinna.

Beauvais disclosed that her manager had even become engaged in the incident during the reunion. Though Rinna could see she was distraught, she said the women had “gone on.”

Then, Cohen jokingly said of Rinna, “Do you recycle?” He referred to Rinna’s social media antics as “a nightmare” once more.
