After overcoming cancer, Jeff Bridges confessed that he had to work out daily in order to be ready to accompany his daughter down the aisle.

How long can I stay up? Was the initial objective. The longest I could stand up for was 45 seconds, according to my record, the actor recently stated to the Independent. The question then became, “How many steps can I take? Oh, well. I will now proceed to walk down the hallway while using oxygen, of course.

Bridges, 72, said that with the assistance of his trainer, he was able to walk farther each day in order to get in shape for the wedding in August 2021.

“Finally, one day I said, ‘Maybe I can do it, you know.’ And it turns out I not only got to walk her down the aisle, but I got to do the wedding dance [to Ray Charles’ ‘Ain’t That Love’]. That was terrific,” he gushed.

Hayley Bridges, the youngest child of the “Big Lebowski” actor, wed financial advisor Justin Shane on August 21, 2021, at Kestrel Park in Santa Ynez, California.

“My dad gave a welcome speech and touched on a trait of Justin’s that I also mentioned in my vows, which is that kids and dogs love him,” the interior designer, 37, told Brides at the time. “I believe this to be an example of his wonderful energy.”

The “Crazy Heart” actor was fighting cancer at the time, but in January 2021, he developed COVID-19, which almost killed him.

In May, he said to People, “I was extremely close to dying.” “Jeff, you have to fight, the doctors kept telling me. You aren’t battling. I was in giving-up mode. I was prepared to leave. I was tangoing with death.
