The passing of a stage performer is being mourned by the Broadway community. According to his wife Angie Lee Graham, Quentin Oliver Lee passed away on December 1 after a battle with stage 4 colon cancer. The 34-year-old former Phantom of the Opera performer.

“Quentin passed in the wee hours of the morning,” Angie wrote on Quentin’s Instagram page. “It was the most beautiful moment of my life. I saw his last breaths, held his hand tight, and felt his heartbeat slowly drift away. He had a smile on his face and was surrounded by those he loves. It was peaceful and perfect.”

She reminisced about the actor as a “wonderful” man, husband, and parent while posting a photo of him and their daughter Samantha. Saying “he will be deeply missed” doesn’t capture the breadth of the individuals and communities he has influenced.

Angie stated that she and their daughter are “supported and encouraged by our families and our own beliefs,” adding that Quentin might help others into “better people.”

Quentin revealed in June that he had received a stage 4 colon cancer diagnosis not long after the off-Broadway production of Oratorio for Living Things ended in May.

The musician remembered 2022 as being a “crazy ride” for him in an Instagram post where he also revealed his illness.

“I got a chance to work with some incredible people at the TONY nominated Caroline or Change musical,” Quentin said, “debut a sold-out Lortel Winner off-Broadway masterpiece, Oratorio for Living Things, and was diagnosed with stage 4 Colon Cancer.”

Prior to this, Quentin had roles in The Prince of Broadway and The Gershwins’ Porgy & Bess, which won a Grammy in 2021 for Best Opera Recording. He also appeared as the eponymous phantom in the Phantom of the Opera’s 2019 national tour. His wife and daughter have continued to live.
