Jason and Cena Work Together in Uproarious Comedy “Killer Vacation”
The Peacemaker and Aquaman are facing off in a titanic battle that might serve as the main event of WrestleMania, but are they doing so while on vacation? Yes, Jason Momoa and John Cena have both agreed to star in Warner Bros.’ new action comedy Killer Vacation.
The two actors reportedly met while filming the upcoming Fast and Furious movie, which may be called Fast X (or Fast10 Your Seatbelts if you prefer), and were so taken aback by their on-screen chemistry that they decided to look for another project to pursue. For Fast & Furious 11, which is presently in pre-production, both are expected to return. The movie’s plot is, at best, hazy, although it sounds like it would take place in a tropical setting with a lot of casualties.
According to the story, some involved in the production have called it “rowdy” and compared it to silly action movies like True Lies, which starred Arnold Schwarzenegger, a naturally charismatic precursor to whom Cena and Momoa would undoubtedly be compared given their bulk. The film will be produced by John Rickard and Peter Safran, and the script was written by Mark and Brian Gunn. Before Safran and James Gunn took over at WB’s DC Films Unit, the movie was packaged and put up inside the studio.
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, the final DC Extended Universe film currently set for release after the hiring of Safran and Gunn, is currently scheduled to star Momoa as Aquaman. Safran and Gunn recently started rebuilding the DC Studios slate by cancelling the upcoming Wonder Woman 3 and Man of Steel 2. While Safran was also a producer on Aquaman, he also acted in Dune for Warner Bros. His most recent Netflix streaming appearance was in Slumberland.
And while we’re on the subject of Gunn, he collaborated closely with Cena on both The Suicide Squad and the HBO spinoff Peacemaker, in which Momoa also made a brief appearance. Cena collaborated closely with Gunn and Safran to create the character, which audiences and DC fans praised and embraced. Following his appearance in Freelance, an action-comedy from Taken director Pierre Morel, Cena is set to return to WWE, his original employer, when the organisation announced his return to the year-end edition of Smackdown, its flagship television programme on Fox.
Cena is anticipated to appear at the WrestleMania event held in Los Angeles the following year.
