Navy CEO has had enough of the rumors
Matthew Scanlan told the source, “This is totally false.” “Bank accounts for the business are not accessible to Brandon Charnas. He has no access points and is not a firm employee.”
On December 7, the businessman refuted rumors that founder Arielle Charnas’s 37-year-old husband Brandon Charnas had been embezzling money from the apparel business. (When Reddit users started speculating that a publication was working on an exposé about Brandon and the business, embezzlement rumors started to circulate.)
The marital status of Arielle, 35, and Brandon is another rumor making the rounds online. Despite claims that the pair are divorcing, a spokesman for Something Navy stated the source that such rumors are “patently incorrect” and added that the couple is “happily married and in love.”
A source added, “There was absolutely no embezzlement. This is all part of a disgusting, coordinated smear campaign attempting to damage Arielle and Brandon’s reputations and lives.”
Something Navy was first started by Arielle as a blog in 2009. She and Brandon have three children together: Ruby, age 6, Esme, age 4, and Navy, age 18 months. The brand has evolved into a clothing line more than ten years later, and as of November 2021, Business Insider estimates that it is worth $100 million.
The Treasure & Bond collaboration, Arielle’s first collection with Nordstrom, debuted in 2017 and, according to WWD, sold more than $1 million in a single day. The following year, Arielle collaborated with the well-known retailer once more to debut her Something Navy line, which the outlet reported generated more than $4.4 million in sales in a single day.
The couple, who got married in 2014, thought back in March 2020 on reassessing their personal connections in the midst of their ever-expanding personal individual careers.
In a March 2020 joint interview with Arielle, Brandon said to Barbara Corcoran, “The problem is she provides too much. She just believes that everything should be given without conditions, yet at the end of the day, the only people you have as friends are your family. Transactions are always taking place.
Although Brandon said he “recognized” the nature of such connections, he continued by saying that one aspect will always be more important. Just pursue your happiness, he advised. “All that matters is that you have your family and your children,” the speaker said.
