Frances Fisher says that it was the easiest role she had ever played. “Your breathing and posture are dramatically altered while wearing that corset. Nobody was able to breathe properly.”

The hairstyles, too, she added. “Under a large hat, all of my hair was pulled back. That was yet another factor that, in my opinion, made Ruth seem grumpy.”

According to Fisher, several of the actresses found it challenging to rest while waiting between shoots because their costumes were so confining and their caps made it impossible.

“Because the headgear was so large, you were unable to lean back because the corset would dig into your torso. They provided all of these resting boards for us, but anyone with long hair or a large hat was unable to utilise them. The ratios weren’t right, “She spoke up.

While they awaited the start of their scenes, she and the other women would choose to “remain upright.”

The actress also mentioned how difficult it was to use the restroom while wearing a costume on set, but she and her female co-stars managed to find a solution.

Some of the female cast members, including Kathy [Bates], Kate [Winslet], and I, would ask, “Okay, are you guys ready to go back to the dressing room to relieve ourselves?” while filming on the ship, she remembered.

With those large dresses on, she said, “none of us could fit into a porta-potty on the site where they had porta-potties.” So they would transport us back to the dressing rooms where we could take care of what needed to be taken care of while standing in the back of a flatbed truck.

For several of the cast and director James Cameron, Titanic continues to retain a particular place in their hearts. It went on to become the first film to gross $1 billion in theatres.

In an exclusive interview for the new Titanic special edition issue, Cameron said that even after the film’s release, he continued his research on the RMS Titanic. He even went back to the wreckage for multiple films, including Ghosts of the Abyss from 2003 and a future National Geographic film scheduled to air in 2023.

Cameron admitted, “Yeah, I was a little bit obsessive there for a while. For now, he continued, “I won’t be returning to the wreck. I’ve completed my research. Together with some other scientists, we are putting all of our data together to create a definitive book on the marine forensics of the disaster.”

Additionally, he told Deadline that he had to struggle to get Leonardo DiCaprio to star in Titanic because the movie’s production company initially didn’t wanted him to. He said that if things hadn’t come together the way they did, he didn’t think the movie would have been as popular.

In his words to the source, “You think in any one of those locations, if that actually kind of frayed apart, it would have been somebody else and it wouldn’t have been that picture.” And I find it impossible to picture the movie without both of them.

Therefore, Cameron continued, “There is a fragility to the entire process, and there is a fragility to success.” If you change only one thing, nothing happens.
