Abby Lee Miller talks about selling the “Dance Moms” Studio, a bitter decision to make
Abby Lee Miller explains her reasoning for deciding to part with her renowned Pennsylvania dancing studio. In an Instagram video posted on Wednesday, the Dance Moms actress described the decision as “extremely heartbreaking.” “I disposed of my home. My name wasn’t for sale. My brand wasn’t for sale. My life’s labor was not sold “Miller remarked. “I sold cinder blocks, brick, mortar, and a gorgeous dance floor that was still in pristine condition. I once stood on one of the best floors.”
Miller, 57, went on to say that the choice of a career simply made sense for her life at this time. However, I’m not now standing. Additionally, I’m not a teacher in Pittsburgh, she added. “I travel the world as a teacher. Yes, the moment has come. And I’m quite happy to announce that a fantastic company will be using my studio and building, which my parents gave me their entire life savings to purchase.
It turns out that the beloved Abby Lee Dance Company’s neighboring premises will be taken over by the school bus company, which already occupies that location. The buyers were referred to by Miller as “someone who needs it.”
The studio, however, will be transformed into a daycare facility. Miller said, “There will still be kids.” “It will remain joyful. The fun will be had. I am quite pleased with it and know the community will benefit greatly from it.”
I am forever indebted and grateful to have the decades of memories in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at the original ALDC, she wrote in the caption of the video. “While I wish I could hold onto every piece of history in that studio, it is just impossible, and I want to share as much as I can with YOU the fans, family, and supporters of the Abby Lee Dance Company,” she wrote.
The initial information about Miller selling the apartment for $300,000 in an off-market arrangement came from the New York Post in December. From 2011 to 2019, eight seasons of Dance Moms on Lifetime featured the Abby Lee Dance Company space.
