The new artwork, which was unveiled for the most recent issue of Empire, perfectly encapsulates the nature of Kang The Conqueror as a bad guy who seeks to rule over everything and everyone in every world. Because he is at war with everyone, including every version of himself throughout the Multiverse, Kang The Conqueror introduces a new type of villain-hero conflict to the MCU.

MCU president Kevin Feige stated in the interview that Kang was the logical option for the Multiverse era of Marvel. Feige stated that Kang enables Marvel to explore a novel type of antagonist.
