Disney Parks releases a cryptic teaser for the roller coaster “Tron Light cycle Power Run”
A mysterious tweet from the Walt Disney Company’s Disney Parks account appears to be a hint to the anticipated TRON Lightcycle Run roller coaster’s debut date at Magic Kingdom Park in Walt Disney World, Florida.
The high-speed thrill ride, which is based on the TRON brand and is produced by Vekoma and Walt Disney Imagineering, has been plagued with delays since its unveiling in July 2017. But it appears as though the long wait is about to come to an end.
The tweet features a picture of a leaderboard resembling the one from the first TRON, along with initials and ten scores. When examined more closely, the scores show important figures and dates associated with both TRON and Disney. Here’s an educated estimate as to what each line might represent.
The roller coaster’s track transports passengers on light-cycle-like vehicles both inside and outside the ride’s color-changing canopy, simulating the adventure the series’ characters go through. The ride has the fastest top speed of any Disney roller coaster in the world, reaching close to 60 mph.
TRON Light Cycle Run will finally open in the spring of 2023, according to Disney, following a number of construction delays that were not helped by the pandemic.
In any case, it seems safe to assume that Disney will unveil their newest, extremely fast thrill ride in around three months!
