Jazz Jennings is seen embracing maturity in an advance look at the season 8 premiere of the show I am Jazz, in which she spars with her mother Jeannette.
In the current season of the show, Jazz is returning to Harvard University for her sophomore year and is shown dating for the first time in years. She is adamant about claiming her independence. Jeannette asks Jazz to “Simply keep in touch. My dad and I fret.” In response, Jazz says, “You can not worry every time I leave you alone. … When will you stop tracking me on my phone, exactly? Or will you constantly follow me?”
The hardest part of growing up, according to Jazz, is just kind of leaning into the things my mother used to do for me but that I now have to accomplish on my own. Jazz revealed that her progression from childhood to adulthood will be featured in the upcoming season of I Am Jazz.
The 22-year-old finds dating challenging, and Jazz Jennings is no exception. The transgender rights advocate is sharing with the media how recently she has been pushing herself to explore her sexuality in front of the new season of I Am Jazz.
“Dating is really, really hard,” acknowledges Jennings. “But in this season, you’ll see me kind of stepping outside of my comfort zone and be like, ‘OK, I’m ready to find love.’” She continues, “I downloaded dating apps, which mom wasn’t really fond of. So you’ll see a little bit of that, our relationship with that. I definitely explore my sexuality.
