Ben Smith-Petersen, the actress’ husband, shared a tribute on behalf of his wife, who was seated front row, during a memorial service for Lisa Marie Presley at Graceland in Memphis, Tennessee, on Sunday morning.

“I wish I could love my daughter the same way you did for me, my brother, and my sisters. I’m grateful that you gave me my heart, my courage, my humor, my manners, my temper, my wildness, and my tenacity. Your heart gave birth to me, to my sisters, to my brother, to my parents, and to my grandparents “Smith-Petersen, who has been wed to Keough, 33, since 2015, made this statement.

He gave no other information, not even the name or the date of the birth of their daughter.

While filming Mad Max: Fury Road in 2012, Keough, who is the daughter of the late Presley and musician Danny Keough, got to know Smith-Petersen. Although they were briefly introduced on-site, the two didn’t begin dating until re-shoots in Australia a year later.

“My husband is such a good person,” wrote Keough in a 2022 essay for Vogue Australia. “He’s calm and loyal and strong and sensitive. He’s my best friend.”

The two rapidly fell in love, and in 2014, Keough and the Australian stuntman announced their engagement. On Facebook, Smith-Petersen posted a picture of Keough at the time wearing a diamond ring with the message, “So that happened.”

In February 2015, little than a year later, the pair exchanged vows. Keough and Smith-Petersen wed for the first time in Nepal, where they were constructing a school at the time of their wedding in the United States.

“The families knew we were getting married and they said, ‘Let us throw you a Hindu wedding,’ ” Keough recalled in her Vogue Australia essay. “It was so beautiful and, in some ways, that wedding was a little more intimate and really special. That wedding, I cried. At my bigger wedding, I was a little nervous, I wasn’t as present. But it was still equally as amazing.”

The couple, who share identical tattoos, later wed once more on February 4, 2015, in Napa Valley, California.

The couple’s parenting news was revealed after Keough uploaded a vintage black-and-white photo of herself and her mother on Instagram on Friday.

In her first comment to the world following the passing of her mother, the sole child of rock legend Elvis Presley, Keough left a little remark to go with the photo: “,” she wrote.

Presley passed away on January 12 after being taken to a hospital in Los Angeles for what might have been a heart arrest. 54 years old.

Along with Keough, the singer-songwriter is survived by her mother, Priscilla Presley, a 77-year-old actress and businesswoman, and twins Finley and Harper Lockwood, both 14 years old. Benjamin Keough, Presley’s son, died before her in 2020 when he committed suicide at the age of 27.
