Hayley and Derek explain how Val Chmerkovskiy inspired them to have children

Hayley Erbert and Derek Hough currently have baby fever. After meeting fellow dancers Val Chmerkovskiy and Jenna Johnson’s infant son, who made his public debut on January 10, the former Dancing with the Stars contestant and his fiancee revealed how their schedule for having children has advanced.

It wasn’t urgent to start thinking about having children until after we met Val and Jenna Chmerkovskiy’s infant, at which point it was quite urgent. When asked if Erbert and Hough were thinking about starting a family, Erbert, 28, responded to Entertainment Tonight.

It was really wonderful because Val said, “Dude, for someone who produces, this will be your ultimate invention,” which made it even more precious. Hough, 37, recalled what his former DWTS competitor had said to him about parenting.

The song that the pair has already chosen for their first dance fits with Hough’s “explosive” concept.

Hough characterized his ideal setting for the moment as, “We’re in the car travelling, like, ‘Okay honey, right here when it gets quiet, you’re going to hear [firework sounds] and when that chorus hits, you’re to see them.

Hough announced to the media in June that he was hiring artists for their special day.

At the 4th Annual Critics Choice Real TV Awards, Hough stated, “I’m not going to announce names right now, but I’ve already invited a few individuals to perform at the wedding and they’ve already committed.” So it will be a full-on festival, and I’m looking forward to it.
