Creed III earns $12 million at global box office in its third weekend
If there was ever any doubt, Creed III is a live example that the Rocky Balboa film series is still capable of triumphing 47 years later.
The sports drama made $12 million across 75 markets after another successful weekend at the box office. With international markets accounting for $96.6 million of the total, this raises the film’s remarkable $224.3 million global box office cume.
The movie has destroyed the previous iterations of the spin-off series, despite a 50% drop off in attendance during its third week in theaters.
The movie has exceeded its rumored $75 million budget, which can only be characterized as an epic victory for Michael B. Jordan’s directorial debut. With its updated interpretation of Rocky’s resiliency adage, “It ain’t about how hard you hit, it’s about how you can get hit and keep moving forward,” Creed III undoubtedly won over reviewers and viewers alike.
In the movie, Adonis Creed (Jordan), who has just retired, is at the height of his fame and prosperity until his boyhood best friend Damian Anderson (Jonathan Majors), who is now consumed by retaliation, threatens to upend his life after serving a significant prison term.
