Jenna Ortega talks about working with The Weeknd

Jenna Ortega is eager to work alongside The Weeknd as the coworker in her first significant movie role.

The 20-year-old actress, who gained notoriety for her sinister depiction of Wednesday Addams in the Netflix series, commended the singer-turned-actor for the future movie in an interview with the media.

“Well, what I can say about Abel is he’s genuinely such a sweetheart,” she said of the singer, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye. “I was instantly comfortable. He’s just very respectful and very collaborative.”

Variety announced on Tuesday, February 28th, 2023, that Tesfaye would play the lead for the first time in a feature movie he wrote and is co-producing with Reza Fahim.

“The team on that project is really, really wonderful,” Ortega told the media. “And I think that, you know, sometimes you don’t really know how much you can say, but they’ve all been immensely collaborative and wanting to know my voice and my opinion. And that’s always a really wonderful feeling when you’re stepping onto a set for the first time.”

Trey Edward Shults, the director of Waves and It Comes at Night, is helming the project, which is presently nameless and cloaked in secrecy regarding its plot, genre, and other details.

In addition to Ortega, the movie also stars Barry Keoghan, the Oscar-nominated actor from The Banshees of Inisherin.
