Pauly Shore gives best wishes to ‘Encino Man’ co-stars for the Oscars

During the Oscars on Sunday, Pauly Shore will support Brendan Fraser and Ke Huy Quan. In a video, he sent in for an appearance on News’ Good Morning America on Friday, Shore, 55, discussed the nominations for the two actors with whom he co-starred in the 1992 comedy Encino Man.

“Hello, Pauly Shore here from GMA. What’s going on? I’m thrilled for my two Encino Man co-stars who are up for two Oscars this year. It’s a crazy tale, pretty remarkable, “added the actor.

“These men have come back so well. They were defrosted and are reviving; it’s near as they were in Encino Man “Shore continued, referring to the storyline of Encino Man: In the film, Shore and Sean Astin play teens who unearth a Stone Age caveman named Fraser and decide to enroll him in their high school.

So, I’m going to binge-watch [Encino Man] this weekend while also keeping an eye on the awards to see who will win, Shore said in the video. “Much thanks, folks. All the best, guys.”

While Quan’s performance in the movie served as one of his final playing appearances before he made a comeback in Everything Everywhere All at Once nearly 30 years later, Fraser’s leading role in Encino Man served as the catalyst for the start of his acting career.

At the 28th annual Critics Choice Awards in January, Quan, 51, and Fraser, 54, got the chance to reconcile and accept their respective trophies for best-supporting actor and best actor.

“The reunion with him was wonderful. In The Whale, I adore him “After accepting his Oscar, Quan told reporters about Fraser in the press room. Quite an impressive performance.

When they “see one other for the first time in 30 years,” according to Quan, Fraser “gave me a big hug and put his arm on my shoulder” as both actors became front-runners for awards season for their comeback roles in movies.

Quan described his reunion with Fraser to reporters as “he put his hand on my shoulder and he stated this, he was still here”. I’ll never forget those three words, and they’re true.

On how much time had passed since Encino Man, Quan said, “For me, I cannot believe I’m still here. “When that movie came out, it’s been a wild trip.”

The Oscars will take place on Sunday at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood and will be broadcast live on news channels. Jimmy Kimmel will once again serve as host.
