Road House latest sneak peek shows Jake Gyllenhaal squaring off with UFC fighter Jay Heiron

In a recent clip shared on Twitter, Jake Gyllenhaal and former UFC fighter Jay Heiron square off. The scene, which was captured on camera following the UFC 285 ceremonial weigh-ins, gives viewers a sneak peek of what is to come in the remake of the 1989 action movie Road House.

A new scene from the upcoming Road House adaptation features Gyllenhaal and Heiron’s characters sparring during official weigh-ins, according to a tweet from MMA Junkie.

Gyllenhaal’s character, “challenger Elwood Dalton,” is introduced in the almost one-minute-long footage as he flexes his muscles in front of a cheering crowd. The “undisputed champion of the world” and Gyllenhaal’s new rival, Jax Jetley Harris (Heiron), are then introduced to the audience. Despite the opposition of the crowd, Harris maintains his composure.

Gyllenhaal (as Dalton) strikes out at his opponent in the spirit of the UFC, displaying that his character is not one to fool with. “I can’t even believe I trained six weeks for this shit. To fight this piece of shit. Just give me the belt now,” he says, getting riled up.

Road House is a remake of the same-named classic movie from 1989. Patrick Swayze, Sam Elliott, Kelly Lynch, and Ben Gazzara star in Rowdy Herrington’s picture, which follows professional “cooler” James Dalton (Swayze), who is hired to work in a roadside bar and is responsible for defending the little Missouri town from crooked businessman Brad Wesley (Gazzara).
