Steven Yeun reveals the reason why he joined Marvel Studios’ Anti-Hero movie
Nothing more has been said about the part Steven Yeun will play in the plot since it was revealed that he would join the cast of the upcoming Thunderbolts movie. Yeun is still mum on any information about the Marvel character he’ll play in the upcoming film as he explains to Empire why he felt driven to join the cast. The actor is nevertheless really eager to take part in one of the last movies in Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. When questioned about his experience joining the production, he provided the following response to the British magazine:
“I’m not sure if crossing it off my bucket list was a specific goal; I think it was more about the story and the opportunity to collaborate with director Jake Schreier once more on Beef. I was drawn to the movie because the goals of the specific character they wanted me to play were extremely obvious.”
Director Jake Schreier and Yeun collaborated on the Netflix comedy series Beef before teaming up again for the Marvel film. Yeun plays Danny Cho, a character who is involved in a road rage accident in that scenario, and the program investigates the devastating effects the disaster has on everyone who is directly or indirectly affected by it. The SXSW Festival, which is presently taking place at the Austin Convention Center in Texas, is where the show will make its debut this year. When it debuts on the platform on April 6, viewers will then be able to watch it online.
Yeun’s portrayal of Glenn Rhee in the AMC thriller The Walking Dead, however, may have been his most well-known television performance during his career. The comic book series reimagined by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard infected the small screen before HBO’s adaptation of The Last of Us, gaining millions of viewers during its first seasons and quickly cementing itself as one of the most relevant television shows of the previous decade. Yeun appeared in the popular series for sixty-six episodes before his character passed away in one of the most gruesome murder scenes ever under the hands of the formidable Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan).
