In a shocking turn of events, the 84-year-old mother of television presenter Savannah Guthrie has gone missing, sparking fears of an abduction.
The tranquil surroundings of her home near Tucson, Arizona, have become the focus of an intense investigation, with authorities suspecting foul play.
Nancy Guthrie was last seen at her residence on the evening of Saturday, 1st February, and was reported missing the following day. Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos has expressed grave concern over the scene at her home, where investigators believe she was forcibly taken, leaving family and law enforcement searching for answers.
Authorities suspect that Nancy Guthrie, who suffers from limited mobility, did not leave her home voluntarily. Sheriff Nanos firmly stated, “I believe she was abducted, yes. She didn’t walk away from there. She didn’t go willingly.” While the motive for the abduction remains unclear, Nanos noted that authorities are investigating whether Nancy had been stalked or harassed in the days leading up to the incident.
The FBI has now joined the investigation, offering additional resources to help locate Nancy. The authorities have not disclosed specifics about the evidence found at the scene that raised concerns, but the sheriff confirmed that the situation is being treated as a crime.
